Abley plays with the contrast between a “kidcore” aesthetic, childish with Disney, Power Rangers or Star Wars references and darker or provocative elements. Many desings cross the line of provocation: Mickey Mouse crop top that leaves nothing to the imagination, pants with a banana on the fly, a naked Disney Ariel covered by Bobby Abley’s name… One of his more controversial collections was the A/W 14 in which models wore a metal piece that did not allow them to close their mouth combined with Disney drawing’s clothing, something that scandalized the American industry.
Alejandro Gómez Palomo is the real name of this Spanish (Córdoba, 1992) who in 2015 created his own Brand achieving to present his collections at the Moscow Fashion Week or at the Cadillac House of New York.
Palomo supports that boys can also wear ruffles, iris fabrics or moire, garmets which men used until 18th century. Clothings made of laces, glitter, silks and velvets on which the designer plays with shapes eliminating any taboo or differentiation between genders. Thus, although the collections are for men, many women celebrities as Eugenia Silva, Cristina Pedroche or the North American Hari Nef have succumbed to the charms of this designer. His latest collection was presented in New York with the name Objeto Sexual and was inpired in the Paradise.
The Russian Gosha Rubchinskiy founded the brand of the same name in 2008 and today is one of the designers who is marking streetstyle lines around the world. Having collaborated with Kappa, Fila or Sergio Tacchini has put back into fashion the casual and sports clothes of the 80’s but his style is much more.
Gosha has broken the fashion schemes in which the American, Parisian and London styles predominate, showing that streetsyle is something global and that inspirations can come from many places. This is proven by the popularity that this brand ,inspired in the post-Soviet Russia and the underground culture of this country, has achieved. There are even replicas of its most iconic garments in aliexpress which shows how desired Gosha’s clothing are. A brand that has made the feism, the common and all those referents opposed to the elites fashionable. His latest catwalk? It has been announced that its next collection AW18 will be presented in St. Petesburg in June and many await with great expectation.
